SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY VII, Portland, Oregon, September 10-14, 2012

 

Reunion activities officially opened with the Hospitality Suite opening at 4 PM with the group moving to the Hotel's Vault Room for the Welcoming Reception of drinks and wonderful food.  This was followed by a Sing-Along led by Hilah Simmons and her trio of Norman Simmons, Joe & Doreen Wiley. 

Tuesday morning David Nigel talked about a trip that was made to Manila in February, helped by Noelle Ayres Banser.  Tuesday afternoon the first tour took place, a Foodie Tour, visiting several downtown restaurants. 

Wednesday morning was a Portland City Tour taking us to the different neighborhoods and visiting several beautiful gardens and the Pittock  Mansion.  Wednesday night was the Formal Dinner followed by entertainment by Joe's Jammers, a band led by Joe Wiley. 

Thursday was a day of three all day tours:  Evergreen Museum & Wine Tasting, Mt. Hood and Waterfalls and the Oregon Coastal Tour,  wonderful experiences.  Friday morning was our Despedida Breakfast where we lingered with our good-bys.
